Kate Latimer is an AFAA certified Personal Trainer with over ten years experience in the fitness field. She is also a Licensed Mental Health Counselor specializing in cognitive behavioral, somatic, and transpersonal approaches to personal growth and healing. Kate is a licensed Nia instructor and teaches Nia, Yoga, and other body-mind fitness classes in the Santa Fe area. Discovering joy in movement and learning to listen to her body has played a central role in Kate's personal journey and she is dedicated to helping others on their own healing journey. She believes that the body is the soul’s vehicle for transformation and that well balanced physical fitness practice is essential to mental, emotional, and spiritual health.
Kate recieved her Master's Degree in Counseling Psychology from Southwestern College in 2007 and works as a therapist and training services coordinator at the Santa Fe Rape Crisis and Trauma Treatment Center where she specializes in trauma recovery and stress management.
In private practice with Sound Body Sound Mind, Kate provides the opportunity for others to experience the profound healing affects of initiating and sustaining a balanced physical practice that compliments and nourishes the whole person. Kate assists and supports her clients in learning how to move through adversity and life challenges with ease and grace, finding joy even during times of loss and hardship, by maintaining a connection to the body and it's internal pharmacy.
